Sri Lanka is divided into 9 provinces and 25 districts. Each province is administered by a directly-elected provincial council:

3 North Jaffna
4 Eastern Batticaloa
5 North Western Kurunegala
6 Southern Galle
7 Uva Badulla
8 Sabaragamuwa Ratnapura
9 Western Colombo
The districts are further subdivided into sub-districts.
